Assistant Workshop Facilitator – Little Angel Theatre
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Little Angel Theatre, awarded ‘Fringe Theatre of the Year 2024’ by The Stage. Little Angel Theatre is a home for puppetry. Since its doors first opened in 1961 the theatre has been dedicated to creating and sharing inspiring stories and igniting the imaginations of the youngest minds. Little Angel Theatre has its roots in Islington and works closely with its local, diverse community to break down barriers to arts engagement so that everyone can benefit from and enjoy our work.
The assistant workshop facilitator will work with our creative learning team and skilled facilitators to help deliver a wide range of participatory workshops, which include arts and crafts, puppetry and drama workshops with children and families in our local community.
CORE DUTIES – SUPPORTING COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES
· To assist the Creative Learning and Commercial Engagement teams, as required, on the development and creation of arts workshops and projects.
· To support with the planning, preparation and delivery of workshops and events.
· To work closely with participants to support their engagement in activities.
· To take part in monitoring and evaluating projects and workshops.
· To represent the company as and when required at performances, workshops, and other networking events.
Person Specification
Required:
· Experience of working in a community arts or child/family centred environment and with children.
· Huge amounts of enthusiasm, ideas and energy
· A flexible and pro-active approach
· An ability to learn quickly and confidence to use initiative
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
· The ability to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable:
· Experience of delivering workshops for children and young people
As this role involves regular direct contact with children a DBS check is required. We can facilitate this and would be a condition of appointment.
Hours: This placement will begin in November and will run for 200 hours total, at 8 hours/week for six months. Please note the hours will likely be split into two half days. LLW £13.15 per hour (please note: the LLW is expected to change October 23, 2024).
