Creative Opps is partnering with Sounds Like These to offer a paid Studio Assistant Placement for an aspiring music producer, sound designer or studio professional looking to gain hands-on experience within the music industry.
Based at Strongroom Studios in Shoreditch, this placement offers the opportunity to work alongside a professional music production and sound design company, supporting studio operations, music production, sound design, administration, events and content creation. You’ll gain practical experience through real client projects, day-to-day studio work and mentorship from an experienced creative team.

About Sounds Like These
Sounds Like These is a music production and sound design company based at Strongroom Studios in Shoreditch. Their work spans everything from music production and composition to sound design for brands, television and commercial campaigns.
Alongside client work, they run Club WIP, a free music production workshop that supports emerging musicians and producers, and are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for creative talent. They are also a Living Wage employer and an official four-day week company.
Placement Details
Location: Strongroom Studios, Shoreditch, London (on-site)
Duration: Approximately 2 months
Hours: 2 days per week (10.00am–6.00pm), ideally Thursdays and Fridays, although some flexibility is available.
Salary: £14.80 per hour (London Living Wage) plus travel expenses.
Start Date: Week commencing 21st September 2026

What you’ll be doing
As Studio Assistant you’ll become part of a small creative team, supporting a variety of projects across the business. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the studio, including studio maintenance and organisation.
- Providing general administrative support.
- Assisting with music production and sound design for client projects where appropriate.
- Researching new software, hardware and creative tools.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of Club WIP events, including event promotion and facilitation.
- Creating social media content to promote the studio and its work.
- Helping create sample packs using sounds recorded in the studio.
As the workload varies depending on live projects, every week will be different, giving you experience across multiple areas of the business.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, curious and excited about building a career in music or the creative industries.
You might be creating your own music, experimenting with sound design, producing content, or simply eager to learn more about how a professional studio works.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine passion for music and sound.
- Experience creating music and/or sound design (professional experience is not essential).
- An interest in current music, artists and creative trends.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
- Confidence taking on feedback and applying it constructively.
Experience using Logic Pro X or Pro Tools would be an advantage but is not required.
