APPLICATION FORM: Whitefox Publishing – Freelancer Community Outreach Intern

Are you passionate about working in publishing? Do you enjoy storytelling and social media engagement? We’re seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Freelancer Community Outreach Intern.  

Whitefox is a creative publishing agency based in London and Los Angeles, which works with a trusted global network of over 2,000 freelancers. Over the last twelve years Whitefox has provided outsourced services to publishers as well as directly to brands, industry leaders and writers seeking to self-publish books, giving them access to trusted publishing expertise.  

We work with the very best talent around the world, applying our years of industry experience and passion for books to every project we take on. Every project is a collaborative effort, which we could never accomplish without the support of our trusted network of freelancers. 

Editors, designers, printers, as well as marketing professionals and specialist consultants, all play a role in producing our books. Therefore, locating and nurturing outstanding professionals is an important part of our mission. 

In this exciting role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on Whitefox’s commitment to building a more inclusive freelancer network. Through creative outreach strategies, data analysis, and engaging content creation, you will engage with freelancers with diverse backgrounds, skill sets and areas of expertise.  

Your responsibilities will include

  • Improving inclusion within our freelancer workforce; 
  • Developing innovative outreach initiatives and partnerships to expand our network’s reach into communities to help attract new talent, add missing skills, and increase our expertise; 
  • Crafting social media campaigns and content that showcase the breadth of skills and perspectives within our freelancer network; 
  • Creating, developing and hosting engaging virtual events and workshops, often in partnership; 
  • Working closely with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and a cohesive strategy across all channels (social media, newsletter, website etc.); 
  • Collaborating with the Editorial and Social Impact programme team to align increasing diversity with broader company initiatives. 

Hours: This placement will begin in September and will run for 192 hours total, at 2 days a week for 3 months. LLW £13.15 per hour

Collaboration 

As the Freelancer Community Outreach Intern at Whitefox, you will be part of a close-knit and exciting team. This internship will hone your communication and teamwork abilities, providing invaluable opportunities to learn from publishing experts in all aspects of the field. 

Storytelling 

You will be encouraged to craft content that resonates with our audience and fosters a sense of community amongst our existing freelancer network.  

Communication 

You will have the chance to work with multi-channel communication strategies to reach and engage with freelancer communities by crafting marketing materials, newsletters and blog posts that both retain and attract new talent.  

Creativity 

Most importantly, we want you to have fun with it and grow a sense of initiative! . We will encourage you to imagine and develop an innovative outreach strategy that resonates with your vision. Whether it’s a captivating networking event, an interactive workshop, an engaging webinar, or a panel discussion featuring successful freelancers sharing their journeys and insights, we empower you to bring your unique ideas to life. 

There will be opportunities to work from our office, based in Highbury in north London as we hope you build connections and learn from colleagues across our team, and also to carry out some work remotely.
