We are committed to democratising our decision-making throughout our programmes to ensure that we are representative of the young people we work with, and understand their needs and aspirations. Creative Opportunities CIC is proud to be working with the paid members of our Youth Board, who use their lived experiences to steer our strategic direction at a high level. All five members came through our previous programmes, taking part in City Leaders, Community Organisers, and our Mentoring Project.
Current activities of the Youth Board:
- Researching production companies to partner with for our work placements programme;
- Contributing to an online resource on decolonial practices in youth work, as part of our Erasmus+ funded Strategic Partnership: (re)Write the Narrative;
- Collating a database of trusts and foundations who might be interested in funding our work.
We also encourage the Youth Board to make use of our own expertise, and have shared some work experience in things like accounting and fundraising.
